ISLAMABAD: The federal government has established a committee to merge the Pakistan Housing Authority Foundation, an entity under the Ministry of Housing and Works, with the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority.
The chairman of the committee will be the additional secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Works. Other members will include the senior joint secretary of the Ministry of Housing, the joint secretary of state, the director general of the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority, and the chief executive officer of the Pakistan Housing Authority Foundation.

On August 12, the Cabinet Committee on State-Owned Enterprises had directed a review of the merger of these two institutions.
The committee’s Terms of Reference (ToRs) have been set. It will evaluate the administrative structure, legal framework, financial status, revenue and expenditures, number of employees, nature of work, and other aspects of both institutions and will develop a roadmap for the merger.
