IG, in his message on national Defence Day, praised the Pakistan Army for fortifying the defence of the motherland and expressed deep respects on behalf of the Punjab Police for the martyrs of Pakistan forces, who thwarted the enemy's evil intentions in 1965 war.

He also acknowledged the role of police force as a vanguard in the war against terrorism. He also highlighted the threat posed by enemy countries through Fifth-Generation Warfare, emphasising the need to defend our social values through the moral and religious training of the younger generation.

Meanwhile, IG Punjab met with Ghazi Inspector Shahid Iqbal at the Central Police Office on Friday. IG extended full support and commendation to Inspector Shahid Iqbal, who risked his life in the line of duty. Inspector Shahid Iqbal, from Sargodha, successfully brought to justice the notorious proclaimed offender Ulfat Abbas, who was wanted in 37 cases of heinous crimes.

Earlier this year, the accomplices of the proclaimed offender attacked Inspector Shahid Iqbal, injuring his leg with 17 bullets. The police department is providing all possible assistance and support to Inspector Shahid’s treatment.
