Sabrina Carpenter recently revealed her first celebrity crush in her latest interview.
The Please Please Please hitmaker has been a fangirl of renowned Hollywood actor Zac Efron since childhood.
In conversation with W magazine, she said, "Oh, God — I had a really dangerous Zac Efron phase when he was in Hairspray."
The Espresso singer shared that she also met her crush when she was 12 years old, "I was on a beach for the 4th of July."
She continued, "He would never remember this, but I saw him and said, 'I’m a big fan of your work!' He gave me a hug. And I remember thinking, 'Oh, my God — he wasn’t wearing a shirt and he gave me a hug! I was like, 'This is amazing. I’m never washing my body!'"
Interestingly, Carpenter and Efron both had their acting breakthroughs through Disney. Carpenter famously starred in Girl Meets World, while Efron became famous for his character Troy Bolton in the High School Musical trilogy.
Efron recently co-starred with one of Carpenter’s real-life best friends, Joey King, in the recent Netflix movie A Family Affair, which was released on June 28.
While Carpenter has continued acting on and off, in projects such as Emergency and Tall Girl over the years, she has mainly built her career in music.
Notably, her song Espresso garnered a number three spot on the Billboard Hot 100, as well as number one on the Billboard Global 200.
