Turkish envoy meets Mohsin Naqvi

Both sides agreed to boost collaboration in counter-terrorism, police operations, and civil armed forces

ISLAMABAD: Turkish Ambassador Dr. Mehmet Pacaci met with Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi at the Ministry of Interior to discuss strengthening Pakistan-Turkey relations and areas of mutual interest.

Both sides agreed to boost collaboration in counter-terrorism, police operations, and civil armed forces, while also considering an increase in flight connectivity between the two nations.

During the meeting, Ambassador Pacaci condemned the recent terrorist attacks in Balochistan, recalling Turkiye’s own battle with terrorism and how the nation successfully overcame it.

He offered full Turkish support to Pakistan in its counter-terrorism efforts.

Minister Naqvi acknowledged Pakistan’s sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, highlighting the critical role of the Pakistan Army, Police, Rangers, FC, and civilians in combating extremism.

He welcomed Turkiye’s cooperation, noting the importance of further bolstering ties between the two countries.

Naqvi also confirmed his upcoming visit to Turkiye in October, at the invitation of the Turkish government, where he plans to discuss further initiatives to deepen bilateral cooperation.

He emphasized the close bond between Pakistan and Turkiye, expressing that Pakistanis consider Turkiye as their second home.

The interior minister commended Ambassador Pacaci’s efforts in enhancing Pakistan-Turkey relations and congratulated him on his new appointment as the Special Envoy of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for combating Islamophobia.

He extended his best wishes for Dr. Pacaci’s future endeavors.

In response, Dr. Mehmet Pacaci thanked Minister Naqvi for his continued support and cooperation during his tenure as the Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan.
