IGP reshuffles police high-ups

The Sindh inspector general of police (IGP), Ghulam Nabi Memon, on Thursday made some high-level changes in the police department with a major reshuffle of key officers.

According to a notification issued on Thursday, at least 16 police officials, including senior superintendents of police (SSPs), superintendents of police (SPs) and assistant and additional inspector-generals were transferred by the IGP.

Dr Sumair Noor, an officer of the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP), and SSP of Ghotki district, was transferred and posted with immediate effect and until further orders as the Jacobabad district SSP replacing Saleem Shah, a BS-18 officer who was transferred and posted with immediate effect and until further orders as the assistant inspector general of police – Establishment-I Central Police Office (CPO) Sindh in place of Syed Salman Hussain.

Hussain was transferred and posted as the SSP Driving Licence Branch, relieving Uzair Ahmed.

Hafeezur Rehman, a PSP officer and SSP of District West of Karachi, was transferred and posted with immediate effect and until further orders as the SSP of Ghotki district.

Saleem Shah, a PSP officer and the Jacobabad SSP, was transferred and posted as the assistant inspector general of Police Establishment-I at the CPO.

Nasim Ara Panwar, another PSP officer awaiting posting at the CPO, was transferred and posted with immediate effect and until further orders as the SSP of the Rapid Response Force (RRF), Naval Base, replacing Muhammad Ali Raza who is to join the 36th senior management course.

Qais Khan, SSP Headquarters and Training, Crowd Management Unit and RRF has been given an additional charge of the SSP RRF, Al-Falah Base Karachi. The previous Al-Falah Base RRF SSP, Saqib Ibrahim is going to join the 36th senior management course.

Abdul Ghaffor Lakho, the Shah Faisal Division SSP, District Korangi, has been transferred and posted until further orders as the SSP RRF Sukkur. He has replaced Zafar Iqbal Malik who is going to join the 36th senior management course.

On the recommendation of the additional IG Karachi, Uzair Ahmed was transferred and posted with immediate effect and until further orders as the SSP Investigation II District Malir against an existing vacancy.

Syed Muhammad Abbas Rizvi, assistant inspector general of police administration and Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) was transferred and posted with immediate effect and until further orders as the Security and Special Branch SSP in place of Irfan Mukhtiar Bhutto who is to join the 36th senior management course.

Tariq Ilahi Mastoi, the Foreigners Security Cell SSP, Karachi, was transferred and posted with immediate effect as the Specialised Investigation Unit SSP. He has replaced Adeel Hussain Chandio who is to join the 36th senior management course.

Abdullah Memon, assistant deputy inspector general of the Special Protection Unit, was transferred and posted with immediate effect and until further orders as the Foreigners Security Cell SP.
