NOWSHERA: The elders and local political leaders on Wednesday asked local government representatives and officials of civic bodies to take prompt steps for containing the fast spreading dengue and malaria diseases in the district.
Talking to reporters, Pakistan Tehreeke-Insaf activist Anwar Haqqani, Abdul Samad Paracha of Awami National Party, Fazal Amin Khan of traders’ union, Faiz Paracha and others said that dengue and malaria had spread in their localities but the local government representatives and officials of civic bodies had turned a blind eye towards the issue.
They said that governments in other provinces had taken preventive measures to stem the spread of dengue hemorrhagic fever in flood-hit areas.
