The Punjab government recently announced a Rs14 per unit cut in the price of electricity for the months of August and September. The people of Karachi, despite their hefty contribution to national revenues via taxes, have been largely deprived of such kinds of relief. The Sindh government must follow the steps taken by the provincial government of Punjab to help its beleaguered and overtaxed people.
