Lately, almost all regions of Pakistan have been experiencing slow internet speeds. Initially, the people were informed that this was due to the installation of a firewall. However, state authorities are now attributing the slowdown to the large number of people using VPNs among other excuses. These conflicting narratives seem like an attempt to protect the government's image.
Regardless of the cause, the fact remains that a significant number of IT professionals and freelancers are facing daily challenges due to these internet issues. This situation is not just inconvenient but deeply damaging as it is tarnishing Pakistan's reputation on the global stage. This issue must be taken seriously and addressed promptly to prevent further harm to our nation’s image and to the livelihoods of those working in the IT sector.
