Govt appoints five members of CII

Strength of CII has now reached 12, while eight seats of Council’s members are still vacant

ISLAMABAD: With approval of President Asif Ali Zardari, the federal government has appointed five members of the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII)).

With appointment of five new members for three years, the strength of CII has now reached 12, while eight seats of Council’s members are still vacant.

A notification regarding appointment of five new members has also been issued. They include Allama Malik Muhammad Yousuf Awan, Allama Syed Iftikhar Hussain Naqvi, Mufti Muhammad Zubair, Dr. Uzair Mahmood Al Azhari and Pir Shamsur Rehman Mashadi.

Mufti Muhammad Zubair, Syed Iftikhar Naqvi and Malik Yousuf Awan had also remained CII members before. Dr. Uzair Mahmood and Pir Shamsur Rehman have been appointed CII members for the first time.
