PESHAWAR: In a major crackdown, the Excise Department seized 42 kilograms of charas (cannabis) from a Suzuki pickup near the Peshawar Motorway-Ring Road Chowk.
The operation, led by SHO Rasool Rahman Khattak and Inspector Sher Muhammad Khan of the Excise Police Station Peshawar, seized the drugs. The accused, residents of Khyber district, were apprehended while attempting to smuggle the narcotics from Khyber to Punjab. A case was registered at the Excise Police Station.
Majid Khan, ETO Narcotics Control, and Nasrullah Khan, Circle Officer, praised the team for their effective intervention in preventing the smuggling of a significant drug haul. The operation is part of the Excise Department’s ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and smuggling in the province, supervised by Rab Nawaz Khan, Director of Narcotics Control.
