KARACHI: No evidence of monkeypox was found among the passengers who arrived at the Karachi Airport during the last 24 hours from different countries.
According to the shift in-charge of Border Health Security, Dr. Samia, the process of screening of all passengers arriving from foreign countries at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport has been going on for the past two days. A record is also being compiled in this regard. She said that no evidence of monkeypox was found in any passenger coming from abroad during the last 24 hours.
Passengers’ body temperature is being checked by automatic thermal scanning machine. Passengers’ hands and arms are manually checked for signs of monkeypox. An isolation room is also functional at the airport for detailed examination of suspected patients.
