Kanye West surprised fans on Friday night with the unexpected release of his new single Slide,a collaboration with Ty Dolla $ign.
This track comes as a follow-up to their February album Vultures 1, which has fueled speculation about the release of Vultures 2.
Slide is now available for streaming on West's website, Yeezy.com.
In the song, the 47-year-old rapper addresses his struggles with the industry, rapping, "But when I slide it in like a drive-by, the industry don't like me. Tell them py nas likewise. They tried to hit me with the cyanide."
The release of follows a turbulent period for West, marked by controversial statements and a dramatic decline in his career and fortune.
His public statements, including anti-Semitic remarks and praise for Hitler, led to significant backlash and a financial downturn.
The song includes West's explicit lines such as, "She know what I like, got me in a twilight, headed to the high-rise, cruisin' like Eyes Wide Shut."
The track has been in the works for some time, with an early version first played at a listening party in Geneva last September.
It was also previewed in full at the Vultures Rave event in Miami in December 2023, months before its official release on Friday.
