MULTAN: The Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) has decided to adopt strict measures against defaulters and monitor the performance of recovery teams, according to Wasa officials. Under the direction of Wasa Managing Director Khalid Raza Khan, an indiscriminate crackdown has been launched against defaulters who do not pay sewerage and water supply bills. The performance of recovery officers is being monitored daily, with a focus on increasing efficiency in detecting illegal connections and recovering dues from defaulters.
All recovery and engineering officers have been instructed to crack down on sewerage and water supply defaulters and accelerate the disconnection campaign. The survey and performance reports on recovery from defaulters were presented in a recent meeting. The progress of defaulters’ accounts is being discussed daily with circle in-charges to ensure timely recovery of dues and disconnection of services for non-payment.
