Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been a frontline region in the war against terrorism for the past two decades. While progress has been made, recent events in Bannu and Lakki Marwat are a cause for concern. The state should proactively address the growing frustration and fatigue of the people who have borne the brunt of prolonged wars by strengthening governance, improving security measures, and addressing economic and social grievances.

The state must also engage in meaningful dialogue with local communities, civil society, and other stakeholders to build trust and foster a sense of ownership in the peace process.
