Fake FIA officer arrested

LAHORE:An accused was arrested by Sundar police for posing as an FIA deputy director on Friday. Muhammad Javed of Kasur had extorted millions of rupees from citizens so far posing as an officer of the FIA. Cases against the accused had been registered in Lahore, Okara, Sargodha and Chunian. A case has been registered against him.

Three held over extorting money

Mustafabad Town police Friday arrested three members of a courier company for extorting money from citizens. Accused Shahzad, Bilal Anas and Talha were arrested and mobile phones, cash, two motorbikes, pistols and bullets were recovered from them. The suspects would set up pickets and loot citizens.

Four arrested for stealing copper wire, iron

Railways Police Mughalpura division Friday arrested four suspects involved in stealing copper wire and iron. The police arrested Izhar ul Din, Farman Ali, Nasir and Sajjad and recovered over 104kg of iron rods and 44kg of copper wires from their possession.

Man booked over torturing dogs

Another FIR under Anti Cruelty to Animal Act 1890 was registered against a suspect in Chung for allegedly torturing dogs on Friday. In-charge Animal Rescue Center Lady Warden Aroosa Hussain received information that some suspects were torturing dogs. Suspect Rana Ibrar was arrested and the dogs were admitted to Animal Rescue Centre Lahore.

11 dead in Punjab road accidents

Around 11 people died and 1,298 others injured in 1,266 road accidents in Punjab during the last 24 hours. Around 570 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 728 with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue medical teams.
