PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety Authority conducted a crackdown on hotels and shops in Nathiagali, imposing fines for violating health and hygiene standards.A spokesperson for the Food Authority said the team in Abbottabad carried out the operation after receiving complaints from residents and tourists.
Under the supervision of Director Operations Akhtar Nawaz, the team inspected major hotels and shops in the key tourist spots of Nathiagali.
They found violations of health standards, poor hygiene conditions, and expired food items including rotten fruits and vegetables. The owners were fined.A fast food cafe was also sealed due to extremely poor hygiene conditions. Director-General of the authority, Wasif Saeed, directed the officials to ensure regular inspections of food businesses in tourist areas.
