Directive to expedite Himmat Card process

LAHORE:Provincial Minister for Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Maal, Sohail Shaukat Butt directed the officers concerned to expedite the registration, assessment, and certification process for disabled individuals for Himmat Card and accelerate their efforts and ensure an effective and timely verification process through a comprehensive door-to-door campaign.

The minister issued these directions while chairing an important meeting of directors and deputy directors of the Gujranwala and Faisalabad divisions. The primary focus of the meeting was to review the progress of the Himmat Card project in line with the directives of Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz. He highlighted the importance of involving all members of the assembly in this crucial campaign, stating that their active participation is essential for the success of the project. The minister issued instructions for the upgrade of social welfare programmes in the relevant divisions. He mentioned that proposals are under consideration to enhance facilities for disabled individuals through the Himmat Card in this region.

The minister also emphasised the timely completion of welfare projects under the Bait-ul-Maal and the importance of revamping and restoring institutions managed by Social Welfare Department in Gujranwala and Faisalabad.

He said that he would receive daily feedback from all divisional officers regarding the Himmat Card. The performance of the Punjab Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Maal institutions will also be reviewed on a monthly basis.

The meeting concluded with a firm commitment to ensure the welfare and support of disabled individuals. The Himmat Card will be delivered to all eligible beneficiaries in a timely and effective manner, he added.

PLRA, PITB sign MoU

Punjab Land Record Authority (PLRA) and Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) signed an MoU on digitally distributing the operations of the PLRA offices. Government Digital Services Wing DG Muhammad Waseem Bhatti and Punjab Land Record Authority DG Ikram-ul-Haq signed the agreement from their respective organisations. The PITB has been implementing the e-Foas in government departments and the MoU between the PITB and PLRA is continuation of the ongoing project. PITB Government Digital Services Wing's office automation system has become a necessity for government departments due to its usefulness. GDS Wing will implement e-Filing Office Automation System to improve efficiency of office affairs of PLRA. MoU has been signed between both organisations.

As per the agreement, all of PLRA's office operations would now be distributed digitally. Waseem Bhatti said that the PITB's GDS Wing is dedicatedly striving to achieve the goal of making Punjab a fully paperless province. He added that by introducing e-Foas in government offices, the Punjab government is saving billions of rupees from the public treasury and enhancing service delivery.
