“You have to be more vigilant in your duty to ensure foolproof security to national and international tourists passing through the Karakoram Highway,” District Police Officer, Lower Kohistan, Mohammad Umar told a meeting.

The meeting, which was attended by the superintendent of police, deputy superintendents of

police, SHOs and investigation officers from Pattan, Bankud and Ranolia circles also reviewed security arrangements for Muharram.

The DPO said that the national action plan (NAP) should be followed in its true spirit.“I would never tolerate any negligence at any stage in the enforcement of NAP, and nobody would be allowed to enter our district via Karakoram Highway or other arteries without thorough search and check-up,” he added.

The official said that patrolling at KKH and other arteries linking the district with the Hazara and Malakand divisions should immediately be enhanced.
