LAHORE:Following the directives of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) is conducting an uninterrupted city-wide cleanup operation to maintain the beauty of Lahore.

Phasewise cleaning activities are under way in all nine towns. In Shalimar Town, over 800 workers and more than 140 operational vehicles were deployed for a comprehensive cleanup operation. The efforts resulted in the clearance of 26 litter points and 15 hotspot areas.

According to LWMC CEO Babar Sahib Din, special cleaning arrangements are being made in both urban and rural union councils. In Shalimar Town, manual sweeping and scraping were carried out around China Scheme Model Bazaar, while China Scheme Temporary Collection Point and Fazalpura Waste Enclosure are being maintained as zero waste zones daily. According to LWMC spokesperson Umar Ch, the operation teams made special arrangements for cleaning Madhu Lal Hussain Darbar, the adjacent graveyard, and surrounding roads. Key areas such as Commercial Market, Kotli Peer Abdul Rehman and Jameel Park were also targeted for special cleaning operations.
