Scattered rain forecast

LAHORE:Hot and partly cloudy weather with scattered rain was recorded in the City on Thursday while Met office predicted similar weather conditions for the next 24 hours.

Met officials warned that torrential rains may cause flash floods in local nullahs/streams of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat, Mansehra, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Dir, Swat, Kashmir and hill torrents of Dera Ghazi Khan from today (Friday) to 7th July (Sunday).

They warned that heavy rains may cause urban flooding in Lahore, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Narowal, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad and Peshawar while landslides may disrupt roads at the vulnerable points of hilly areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Galliyat, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Thursday’s maximum temperature was recorded at Nokkundi where mercury reached 48°C, while in Lahore, it was 34.5°C and minimum was 24.5°C.Meanwhile, Punjab Health Minister and Chairman Cabinet Committee on Disaster Management Khawaja Salman Rafique visited PDMA head office to review water situation in rivers. He also visited the PDMA Control Room.
