ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Wednesday reserved its judgment on petitions of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalist (PFUJ) and Islamabad High Court Journalists Association (IHCJA), seeking nullification of a notification of Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) regarding imposition of a ban on the court reporting.

The verdict is likely to be announced the next week. IHC Chief Justice Aamir Farooq remarked that the world had changed, time had changed; Things had changed. “We will have to change ourselves to these things,” he remarked. About the PEMRA ban, he remarked, “If I talk about the IHC, there is nothing like that wrong reporting has been done. What I said yesterday has been reported correctly. If any incorrect reporting has been done anywhere, then there is procedure in place for that.”
