Monsoon cleanliness awareness campaign starts

LAHORE: To maintain the City’s cleanliness, Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has established awareness camps here Tuesday.

Under the guidance of LWMC Chief Executive Officer Babar Sahib Din, the Company community mobilisation teams have set up awareness camps to educate shopkeepers and residents about cleanliness near drains. LWMC’s 50 social mobilisers, divided into six teams, have been deployed to conduct awareness activities. CEO Babar Sahib Din emphasised the importance of cleanliness, especially during the rainy season, and mentioned that awareness materials have been distributed to over 300 shops. This initiative aimed to inform citizens about the proper disposal of waste, said LWMC spokesperson Umar Chaudhry, adding the social mobiliser teams were active in parks, door-to-door campaigns, markets spreading the message of cleanliness.
