ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari gave his assent to the Finance Bill 2024 on Sunday.

According to an announcement by the President House Secretariat, President Asif Ali Zardari gave assent to the Finance Bill 2024 on advice of the prime minister under Article 75 of the Constitution. The Finance Bill 2024 will be effective from today (July 1, 2024).

On June 28, the National Assembly passed the Finance Bill, 2024 with certain amendments, adopting the financial proposals for the fiscal year beginning on July 01, 2024 with the majority vote.

The main opposition Party Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) and other opposition parties opposed the Finance Bill 2024.

The Finance Bill 2024 was sent to the President House by the National Assembly Secretariat on Saturday.
