PUC issues ‘Code of Conduct’ for Muharram

LAHORE:Pakistan Ulema Council issued 'Paigham-e-Pakistan Code of Conduct' to ensure peace during Muharram-ul-Haram

The Council also announced denouncing US resolution, supporting Pakistan's resolution and appealed to all the religious and political parties to unite for the cause of Azm-e-Istehkam Pakistan (Resolve for Pakistan's Stability). Pakistan Ulema Council has issued Paigham-e-Pakistan Code of Conduct with the mutual collaboration of all the religious and political parties of the country to ensure peace, law and order situation in the country during the month of Muharram-ul-Haram. The code of conduct aims to create religious harmony, the council said. While addressing a press conference, Chairman Pakistan Ulema Council, President International Interfaith Council Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi and leading Ulema Mashaykh resolved that religious leadership of all the sects would fully endorse the Paigham-e-Pakistan Code of Conduct and any violation of this code of conduct would not be tolerated.

All the religious scholars and Ulema-Mashaykh of Pakistan completely refute the extremist and fundamentalist mindset. In view of Azm-e-Istehkam Pakistan, they demanded the government devise a unanimous policy to ensure economic prosperity and to eradicate extremism and terrorism.

Pakistan's National Assembly has adopted a resolution in reply of US resolution, they said, adding the US should play its role in containing atrocities on the people of Kashmir and Palestine and Israel's continuing atrocities on the people of Palestine. They urged upon the opposition parties to support this resolution for the cause of Kashmir and Gaza, they concluded.
