Cylinder blast claims life

LAHORE:A man was killed and three others were injured when a cylinder exploded in an air conditioning and refrigerator service shop near Scheme Mor, Multan Road on Sunday.

The blast caused panic among nearby shop owners and customers. Emergency services promptly arrived, and the injured individuals were rushed to hospital. The police confirmed the details of the incident and are investigating the cause of the explosion.

Traffic official dies in hospital

A traffic warden expired in hospital on Sunday. Traffic Warden Muhammad Akram had sustained injuries in a traffic accident near Mall Road underpass a few days ago. Akram had been receiving treatment at Jinnah Hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries. He hailed from Hujra Shah Muqeem, Okara.

141 drug pushers held

Police teams conducted 289 raids on the hideouts of drug dealers across the Punjab province during the last 24 hours. Police registered 135 cases and arrested 141 drug pushers. Spokesman for the Punjab Police said that since the anti-narcotics operations began on February 26, police teams have conducted 33,572 raids across the province. These operations led to the arrest of over 16,000 suspects and the registration of 15,693 cases. The confiscated items included 9,366kg charas, 162kg heroin, 269kg opium, over 45kg ice, and more than 1,677,000 litre liquor.

Man drowns in Ravi

A man drowned in the river Ravi on Sunday. Rescue 1122 swiftly responded to the emergency and initiated a search operation to locate the missing individual. Despite their diligent efforts, the divers were unable to recover the body by the time this report was filed.
