The Sukkur Barrage, one of the country’s most important barrages, was built during the colonial period. As far as I know, it is now in a very sorry state of affairs due to the negligence of the provincial and federal governments.
One of its gates has been badly damaged which reflects poorly on the performance of those tasked with maintaining this critical infrastructure. Despite having a plethora of engineers and engineering universities we are incapable of ensuring that our infrastructure remains in full working order.
