LAHORE:Sikh yatrees from India Thursday arrived at Lahore to attend Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s 185th anniversary festivities.
They also performed their religious rituals at Gurudwara Rohri Sahib Aminabad on their return journey from Kartarpur. The yatrees were transported under tightened security via special buses. To ensure their well-being, Rescue 1122 and the medical team of the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) accompanied them.
The pilgrims will stay at Gurudwara Dera Sahib for two days, where excellent arrangements have been made for their comfort. The Gurudwara has been beautifully decorated with electric lamps, and electric generators are on standby in case of load shedding. Foolproof security measures have been implemented at all entrances and surrounding areas.
The main function commemorating Maharaja Ranjit Singh's death anniversary will take place at Gurudwara Dera Sahib in Lahore on Saturday, June 29, under the auspices of the ETPB. The event will see the participation of Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, members of the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (PSGPC), board officers, political and religious leaders, and thousands of Sikh pilgrims from around the world, including minority leaders. This event highlights the rich cultural and religious heritage shared by the Sikh community and promotes cross-border religious harmony and understanding.
