Julio Foolio, an up-and-coming rapper, was shot dead in Florida after celebrating his 26th birthday.
According to Page Six, the rapper, born Charles Jones, was killed early on Sunday, June 23.
His attorney, Lewis Fusco, said in a press release obtained by the outlet that he was allegedly "ambushed" in the parking lot of a Holiday Inn hotel in Tampa.
Fusco noted that his client checked in the hotel after police shut down a pool party he was hosting at his rented Airbnb.
Foolio, whose birthday was on Friday, June 21, posted the announcement of his 5 p.m. pool party on his Instagram story on Saturday, June 22, saying, "If you already got the address, pull up."
His next social media update showed him partying with a group of friends, enjoying drinks from red Solo and Styrofoam cups.
After a few hours, he wrote in his Instagram stories, "Pol!ce shut us down and kicked us out air bnb (sic) that’s crazy work."
The When I See You rapper then updated that he was heading to another party with his friends, marching behind him, and appreciated everyone joining him for his birthday celebration.
While he didn’t show himself at the hotel, police identified his body and shared that three other unidentified victims were also injured during the incident, getting treated at the hospital.
