Elliott Gould mourned the death of his M*A*S*H co-star, Donald Sutherland, who passed away on Thursday, June 20, at the age of 88.
On Friday, June 21, Gould took to Instagram to pen a heartfelt tribute for his late co-star, who was "like my brother."
"In 1970, Donald and I co-starred in Robert Altman‘s classic movie 'Mash,'" Gould reminisced in the caption alongside the picture of the two from the 1970 film.
"Donald was a giant, not only physically but as a talent," he raved over the late legend, adding, "He was also enormously kind and generous."
The Long Goodbye actor mentioned in the emotional note that he and Sutherland became young fathers just a week apart.
"It’s never easy, losing the caliber of a human being and actor like Donald Sutherland," he continued, "but this one really profoundly hurts because Donald was like my bother and a big part of my own career."
Before concluding the teary note with "I love you, and I will never forget you. kiefersutherland," Gould extended his heartfelt condolences to Sutherland’s family.
Additionally, four years after the comedy-war film Gould and The Hunger Games star teamed up again on S*P*Y*S.
