Sheikh was booked by the Pishin police of Balochistan under the sections 123-A, 124-A, 341, 353,186,147 and 148 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

The applicant’s counsel, Ali Tahir, submitted that the PTI leader was innocent and had been falsely implicated in the case on a political basis. He submitted that the applicant had nothing to do with the alleged offence but he was implicated in the case with mala fide intentions and ulterior motives.

The SHC was informed that the applicant wanted to surrender before the trial court for relief in accordance with the law but apprehended his arrest as the police wanted to disgrace him.

A single bench of the high court comprising Justice Mohammad Iqbal Kalhoro after the preliminary hearing of the application without touching the merits of the case granted protective bail to Sheikh for 14 days and directed him to surrender before the trial court.
