Worker tortured to death by employer

LAHORE:An 18-year-old employee was tortured to death by his employer within the limits of Islampura on Thursday.

The victim, identified as Waqas, son of Shaukat, was employed in a private factory. The victim's family alleged that the factory owner subjected Waqas to severe torture, ultimately resulting in his death. Edhi volunteers transported the body to the morgue.

Man held on charges of raping tenant

Hanjarwal police have registered a case against a man on charges of raping his female tenant. The Dolphin team arrested the accused, Nadeem, and handed him over to the Hanjarwal police station.

Four die in road accidents in Punjab

The Emergency Services Department (ESD) responded to 1,201 road traffic accidents in all districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. In these accidents, four people died, whereas 1,254 were injured. Out of these, 550 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 704 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue medical teams.

Minor electrocuted

A 7-year-old child died due to electrocution in the Jalo area on Thursday. The boy, identified as Abdul Hadi, received an electric shock from an LCD. According to the relatives, the 11,000-watt electric wire was connected to the cable. The child was rushed to hospital but could not survive. Mian Bilawal, the father of the child, stated that he would lodge a complaint against the electricity distribution company and the cable operator for the registration of an FIR.
