As Chelsea triumphed over West Ham Sunday with an astounding 5-0 at Stamford Bridge, reports have emerged that the manager of the Blues Mauricio Pochettino is being pressured for taking the team to an unrealistic position.
Mauricio Pochettino is managing the Fulham-based football club as he is about to complete his first season with Chelsea.
The west London football team has been heavily relying on Cole Palmer with emerging victorious in 15 games. It also faced defeat 11 times.
Now their two consecutive victories have placed them in the seventh position, two points behind Newcastle United but ahead of Manchester United.
However, David Ornstein of The Athletic that the higher management of the team are demanding that Chelsea should secure a position Europa League position, rather than the Europa Conference League spot, which seems more real.
Ornstein, while speaking with the NBC Sports claimed: "Chelsea have a situation of their own with Mauricio Pochettino in position for now, coming up to a year into a two-year contract — with an option to extend.”
"That situation will be reviewed in the summer. Chelsea are demanding that they qualify for Europe for the Europa League, not the Europa Conference League."
Chelsea have yet to qualify for the continental league which also is dependent upon how other team perform.
Ornstein also claimed that should they part company with Pochettino, they will not bring back former managers Antonio Conte or Jose Mourinho, nor will they opt for Hansi Flick or Ruben Amorim.
The team is set to face Nottingham Forest on 11 May.
