ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F Ameer Maulana Fazlur Rehman, who had boycotted the election process during the formation of the current government, ended the boycott in the Senate elections on Tuesday.
Before the decision, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and former prime minister Yusuf Raza Gilani had a special meeting with Maulana Fazlur Rehman during which they persuaded him to end the boycott.
According to sources, after the decision of Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the JUIF members started arriving in the House and exercised their right to vote in favor of the candidates of the ruling coalition.
