Princess Diana's brother, Charles Spencer, has come forward with startling allegations of physical abuse during their childhood.
In an interview for BBC One's "Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg," airing this weekend, the 9th Earl Spencer revealed that both he and Princess Diana were subjected to physical abuse by one of their nannies.
Charles recounted the disturbing experiences, detailing how the nanny, referred to as Nanny Forster, would "crack our heads together" as punishment for misbehavior.
He emphasized that these incidents occurred without their father's knowledge and left lasting emotional and physical impacts.
"It wasn't a tap on the wrist, it was a cracking crunch," he recalled, reflecting on the severity of the abuse.
Despite the trauma endured, he made it clear that he does not hold his parents, the late John Spencer and Frances Spencer, responsible for the nanny's actions.
Spencer alleges that a female staff member at Maidwell school groomed him and other boys, while headmaster John Porch subjected them to "brutal beatings."
Maidwell school issued a statement expressing regret over the experiences recounted by Spencer and his fellow alumni.
The statement acknowledges the sobering nature of the revelations and extends apologies for the distressing experiences endured by former students.
