PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has asked the federal government to replace the incumbent chief secretary with Shahab Ali Shah.

Contrary to traditions, Chief Minister Ali Amin Gundapur has sent only one name instead of sending a panel of three names, although it is the prerogative of the prime minister to appoint one of the three officers as chief secretary.

The Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Peshawar has dispatched a letter to the federal government. The letter issued by the principal secretary to the KP CM dated March 9 has a with reference number PS/P5CM/CMS/KPK/2024Peshawar.

The incumbent Chief Secretary, Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry, was posted during the caretaker government, while Shahab Ali Shah was posted in different posts, including the additional chief secretary in the PTI government.
