Marriage during Iddat: IHC rejects Imran, Bushra plea to dismiss case

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) rejected the plea to dismiss the case against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi.

IHC Chief Justice Aamir Farooq issued a 16-page written decision to dispose of the petition filed by PTI Founder Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi to dismiss the marriage during Iddat case.

In the judgment, it has been said that there was no violation of law in issuing the summons on the charge of fraudulent marriage, to the extent of fraudulent marriage, the accused fought the case on merit in the trial court.

The court wrote that the plea to declare the summons issued on the charge of fraudulent marriage as null and void is rejected. The court said that according to the decisions of the Supreme Court, the case could not be dismissed after the indictment.

It should be noted that the marriage case against Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi is going on in the trial court.
