LAHORE: Turkish Consul-General Durmus Bastug Friday said Turkiye and Pakistan are brotherly Islamic countries and media plays an important role in enhancing their ties.
On the occasion of the inauguration of the Lahore office of the digital media platform "Turkiye Urdu", the Turkish envoy said the initiative is playing an important role in boosting ties between the two countries and it interprets the sentiments of the people of the two countries. Muhsin Balci, President of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TiKA), also attended the event.
Addressing the event, Secretary General Lahore Press Club Zahid Abid said the media is playing an important role in promoting connectivity between the countries. Türkiye Urdu would generate job opportunities for Pakistani journalists and would also impart training to them.
