He, along with his son Hayat Manika, submitted nomination papers from PP-193 Pakpatan, as well as from NA-139.

Atta Manika has spoken to Shehbaz Sharif about the possibility of receiving the party ticket for himself or his son. He said that the issue of the constituency ticket has now been placed before Nawaz Sharif for consideration.

It is worth noting that Mian Hayat Manika, Atta Manika’s son, is also the son-in-law of Khawar Manika and the founder of PTI Imran Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi.

In the previous election of 2018, he contested on the PMLN ticket from this constituency but was unsuccessful. His rival, Farooq Manika, who contested as an independent candidate, lost the election, and PTI’s candidate Mian Furrakh Manika won the seat.
