PESHAWAR: The lawyers aligned with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) scuffled with police deputed at the entrance to the Peshawar High Court (PHC) for security.
The lawyers exchanged harsh words with the cops performing security duty at the entrance to the PHC building. However, Peshawar High Court Bar Association President Tariq Afridi and General Secretary Lajbar Khan intervened and resolved the matter.
The lawyers demanded that the cops should be removed from outside the PHC as the candidates were visiting the court in connection with their appeals.
Meanwhile, the police argued that the cops had been deployed for security purposes to avoid any untoward incident.
The police officials said that the people were being allowed entry into the court premises after proper checking.
They said that the police had been deployed at all the sensitive buildings in the red zone of the provincial capital.
