MANSEHRA: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUIF) leader Mufti Kifayatullah on
Saturday said his party was in contact with other
political parties to get their support against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz supreme leader Nawaz Sharif for NA-15 in February 8 elections.
“This is a wrong perception that JUIF is pursuing the agenda of PMLN as an ally. JUIF has its own policies and being a strong political power we will
defeat Nawaz Sharif in NA-15,” he told reporters outside the returning officer’s offices here.
Mufti Kifayatullah, who appeared before Returning Officer Hajrah Sami for the security of his nomination papers and was given a clean chit for the February 8 elections, said the political parties who fielded their aspirants in NA-15 had been approached to muster their support.
The former lawmaker said that the people were mature enough and would never exercise their right to vote for Nawaz Sharif as he was an imported candidate.
“We will foil the bid to rig the elections at any stage at any cost as our workers will monitor the entire process of the election,” the JUIF leader said.
He claimed going to set history as a common worker of the JUIF would defeat one of the wealthiest industrialists, Nawaz Sharif, in the elections. He also said that Nawaz Sharif could withdraw his nomination papers from this constituency.
