Elon Musk, the richest man in the world, intends to construct a school and eventually a university in Texas, as per Forbes.
According to tax records cited in the article, Musk gave $100 million to a nonprofit "The Foundation", that intends to open a school.
Whereas, as per the file that Bloomberg published online, the programme would be "focused on teaching in STEM subjects" and is expected to register an initial cohort of roughly 50 students. It further stated that the institute will be "dedicated to education at the highest levels".
"The Foundation", a charitable organisation, plans to apply for tax-exempt status and accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, which is situated in Georgia according to the Forbes article.
Although the school's specifics are not given, the institution will hire "experienced faculty" and offer a standard curriculum supported by experiential learning opportunities such as "simulations, case studies, fabrication/design projects and labs."
Last year, Musk donated $2.2 billion worth of Tesla stock to the nonprofit. The proposed school will provide need-based scholarships and be financed by tuition and donations.
