Agriculture is the backbone of Pakistan’s economy. And yet, our agricultural sector is heavily reliant on imported wheat, sugar, edible oil, and fertilizers. The rise in the price of fertilizers during the winter growing season is an economic burden on our farmers and will lead to lower crop yields.
Expensive fertilizer is also being sold on the black market at a higher price than the government rate. The relevant authorities must take note of this situation and help lower the fertilizer prices.
