ISLAMABAD: The Russian government has appointed Albert Khorev as the new ambassador to Pakistan.
He will replace Danila Ganich, who has been changed after four and a half years. New Russian Ambassador Albert Khorev is currently Deputy Director Afghanistan Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIF) in Kremlin.
The sources told The News here Wednesday the Pakistan government has conveyed agreemaunt (consent for posting) for the new ambassador and he will assume the charge early next month. The sources said that Ambassador Albert Khorev was well versed in Pashto and Persian languages. He can speak the two languages fluently. He earlier had served in Afghanistan
as a senior diplomat. He is the youngest ambassador of Russia assigned in Pakistan since the two countries established diplomatic ties.
