LAHORE:Punjab University’s Academic Staff Association (PUASA) has strongly condemned the desecration of the Holy Quran in Sweden and testified that the Holy Quran is the truest book on the earth.
The PUASA members said that it was a very provocative act. The Swedish government should immediately reject and apologise for this heinous attempt to create hatred between religions. The religious faith of all Muslims has been seriously hurt by this act, PUASA observed in a press statement. The protection of the Holy Book and Islamic values is the common cause of the Muslim world and the humanity at large. It is necessary for the Muslim Ummah to be united for its protection.
Meanwhile, a meeting organised here Monday by the Youth Council for Interfaith Peace and Harmony condemned desecration of the Holy Quran in Sweden. The meeting was attended by representatives of Youth Council and Head of Faces Pakistan Javed William.
Javed William said that the Swedish government should take notice of this anti-human act. Salwan Momika is not a Christian, but an atheist, he said. Other participants said that action should be taken against those who are trying to do mischief.
