LAHORE
Former governor of Punjab and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Punjab president candidate Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said that rulers would be in jails whenever a transparent and fair accountability was conducted in the country.
Rulers’ corruption would only be proved if National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was allowed to work independently, he said while addressing a workers meeting at Baghbanpura on Friday. MPA Dr Nausheen Hamid, Youth Wing’s Waseem Chaudhry and others were present on the occasion.
He said those making tall claims of leaving politics if corruption proved against them, were actually making fool of the masses.
He said because of rulers’ corruption, most people in the country were facing abject poverty, joblessness, pressure tactics, injustices and lack of health and education facilities. He said incumbent rulers wanted this status quo in the country but they should know that people would reject them altogether in the next elections.
He said there was no example of such a massive corruption that took place in the incumbent rulers’ tenure. He said rulers’ surprise visits were also jugglery items.
