PESHAWAR: Six militants were killed during security forces operation in Bajaur Agency.
According to sources, security forces pounded militants’ hideouts with heavy artillery in Zorband and Nawagai areas of Tehsil Khar. Six militants were killed in the operation.
Ten hideouts of militants and one underground bunker were also destroyed during the shelling. Meanwhile, deadline given to Afghan refugees to leave the area would expire on Tuesday, Mamond tribe had announced to take strict action against refugees not leaving the area once the deadline expires.
Bajaur Press Club (BPC) has demanded a thorough inquiry into the killing of a journalist by security forces and said journalists working in tribal areas should be protected. |
