ISLAMABAD: Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) Riaz Hussain Pirzada has said that the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project is very crucial for Pakistan’s economic stability and national security, so it should not be made controversial like the Kalabagh Dam.
The CPEC is a game changer not only for Pakistan but also for the entire region and nobody will be allowed to make the multi-billion dollar China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project controversial, he told APP when asked about the reservations of the smaller provinces about any change in its western route.
He said the CPEC project would pass through the entire country and all the provinces would get benefit from this gigantic project, particularly the backward areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan would benefit more.
He said the federal government had time and again assured the smaller provinces that the western route of the CPEC would be built on priority and all its work would be carried out with collaboration of all the stakeholders.
The minister said the federal government would fulfill the commitment about the CEPC made at the All Parties Conference (APC) in May last.
He said the political parties should not believe in negative propaganda unleashed against the project and avoid giving controversial statements about it.
Opposition parties strongly criticised move, accusing BJP government of targeting Muslim community ahead of Eid
“Efforts of KP government, led by CM Ali Amin Gnadapur are yielding positive results,” he said in a statement
