A fire broke out on Saturday at a commercial building on the city’s economic hub, II Chundrigar Road.
According to a spokesperson for the fire brigade, the fire broke out at the second floor of Trade Centre located near Jang Press on II Chundrigar Road. The fire brigade received information about the incident at around 10:15am and immediately dispatched fire tenders to the site, the spokesperson said.
The firefighters were able to douse the flames with the hectic efforts of at least two-and-a-half hours, the spokesperson explained, adding that a total of five fire tenders with one snorkel participated in the fire extinguishing work.
No loss of life was reported in the incident. The fire was apparently caused by a short circuit; however, it is yet to be confirmed.
