KARACHI: The Citizens Foundation (TCF) is organising the 15th edition of TCF Golf Tournament to raise funds for the education of less privileged children next weekend at the Karachi Golf Club.

The tournament will bring together avid golfers of the city to play a friendly match in Texas Scramble format. The funds raised from the tournament are expected to enable more than 400 children from the low-income families to get quality education in TCF schools.

According to the latest Pakistan Education Statistics Report by AEPAM, Ministry of Education Pakistan, there are 22.84 million children out of school. UNESCO’s latest published figures suggest Pakistan has the second highest number of out of school children globally after Nigeria.

“The education emergency in the country remains huge with almost half of Pakistan’s children being out of school. We need a collective effort to change this situation because every child has the right to quality education. TCF Golf Tournament is an event that we hold each year to highlight the education emergency and our efforts in educating the less privileged children,” said Mushtaq Chhapra, Founder Director, The Citizens Foundation.

“This year’s TCF Golf Tournament has been made possible by the support of corporate sponsors, media partners and the well-wishers of TCF who believe that education is the answer to a better Pakistan.”
