KARACHI: More than 10,000 security personnel of Sindh police and Rangers will be deployed in various parts of the city around the National Stadium here for the final of Pakistan Super League (PSL) on March 25, ‘The News’ learnt on Monday.

An important meeting was held at Police head office presided by provincial information minister Nasir Shah. It reviewed the arrangements for the PSL final. Informed sources said that two parking lots for the vehicles had been selected, one at KMC Sports Complex at Kashmir Road and the other at Federal Urdu University at University Road.

The sources said that 200 buses would be used for taking the spectators to the venue from these places. It was decided that more buses would be added to the plan if needed.

General Manager NSK Arshad Khan confirmed that arrangements for the PSL final in Karachi were being given final touches. The NSK is ready to organise the PSL final in a befitting manner, he added.

“Two or three days before the final everything will be finalised,” an employee at the NSK said. The cleanliness work is in full swing inside the stadium. The newly-installed lifts are fully functional. They have been found operating satisfactorily in trials.

It was learnt that security inside the stadium during the final would be the responsibility of the Rangers. Outside it, it would be the responsibility of police. A full dress rehearsal will also be conducted one day before the PSL final.

People having residences around the stadium or doing businesses, educational institutions and hospitals have been requested to cooperate with the law enforcement institutions for successfully staging the final.
